Prof. Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. It is believed that she was the one responsible as the pioneer of modern studies of eyewitnesses' memory, and the role of children in witnessing. The number of publications by Professor Goodman is extensive, she has received numerous grants and is the recipient of many awards at both national and internationally. She has offered consulting on research and policy for numerous government agencies and departments around the globe. She works as a Consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center - formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center - of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of numerous professional groups, such as the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is also a member of Psychonomics Society as well as the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She is the former president of American Psychological Association Divisions for Policy for Children and Families and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
